Tip#1260: The Recipe For Resilience, Part 66 – Battlestar Galactica 2003

This is Day 559 of the COVID-19 pandemic here in Toronto, Canada.

Mystical events have been happening to me for several decades and have inspired me to document many of them on this movie blog and on my Instagram channel. Some are little things like needing large kitchen knives and then suddenly finding a box of them for free on someone’s lawn after a yard sale. Or meeting strangers at the exact time who had the exact information or items I needed during a crisis.

Another example was having a strong feeling to rewatch the Battlestar Galactica remake series. At first I wanted to purchase all the four seasons in BluRay box sets. But my intuition told me to wait and weeks later I was shopping at a Value Village Thrift Store and found three of the box sets in excellent condition and at a fraction of the price!

I got chills at that moment and I could feel deep inside me that something unseen and mystical had happened. Others may say it's just a coincidence but I really felt these BluRay box sets were placed there for me to find. It reminds me of what I’m learning about the Chinese healing practice of Qigong (see tip#1259) which The Force from Star Wars is related to.  I felt this series was going to be a fantastic teaching tool for me on many levels and it was!

Battlestar Galactica (2003)

The science fiction drama series, Battlestar Galactica, is a remake from the 70’s about the human survivors of a war escaping from machine beings called Cylons via a ragtag fleet of civilian space ships led by the military ship Battlestar Galactica. This gritty, emotional and highly entertaining 4 season series features a fantastic cast that includes Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, and Grace Park.

I absolutely love SCI FI shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation and yet Battlestar Galactica excells as brilliant SCI FI grounded in realism when coping with war, trauma and depression. Add to this are the amazing space battles, stunning visual effects and heartfelt relationships. This series also shines with rich examples of leadership, teamwork, resilience, perseverance and indestructible optimism.

What is also featured are thought provoking concepts on what angels and God is. The mythology of this series touched me deeply because it mirrored my belief in extraordinary, mystical, magical or divine occurrences that cannot easily be explained. And yet these are very real in my life and perhaps in yours too.

Believing in the magic of synchronicities or of divine, mystical events is a huge step in believing the impossible is possible. It’s a mindset that allows us to see hidden solutions to overwhelming problems we are hit with. Find a TV series or movie that inspires you to expand your thoughts on what is possible today!
