This is Day 292 of the COVID-19 pandemic here in Toronto, Canada.
It was a little tough but I made it through Christmas and New Year’s Day alone at home and separated from any family or friends. I persevered thanks to a fridge and freezer full of delicious food gifts and lots of uplifting movies and TV shows. And I found that every one of these shows delivered messages that inspired my resilience and optimism for 2021. Some even filled me with wonderful nostalgic feelings!

All of these life lessons that spoke to me helped to feed my positive thinking and resilience. They helped me focus on the positives of my isolated holiday situation rather than sink into depression and hopelessness. They helped me to feel that everything would be okay.
One common factor in most of these programs was the feel-good feelings of nostalgia. This was a deep, warmth in my heart reminding me of happier times of my childhood or youth. These nostalgic feelings would be triggered by seeing characters from older movies like The Karate Kid, the first Spider-Man trilogy or the original Star Wars trilogy back again on the screen after many years. This is the uplifting energy that further fueled my positivity and optimism.
Remember it is always possible to get through difficult times despite being alone and separated from the ones you love. You just need to believe in your inner strengths to persevere and that you can harness re-energizing tools around you like listening to favourite music, eat delicious foods you love or watch feel-good TV shows and films. So stay strong and resilient and believe that 2021 will be your best year ever!
Happy New Year to all my faithful readers!!!
