Tip#1202: The Recipe For Resilience, Perseverance & Indestructible Optimism, Part 8 – Paris Can Wait

This is Day 105 of the COVID-19 quarantine/social distancing here in Toronto, Canada.

Every day this week I’ve been enjoying more YouTube research on pasture-raised eggs and their wonderful farmers in Canada, USA and Europe. I was also so happy to discover the term for the amazing, natural coloured eggs I love which are called Heritage eggs. Looking at them just bring me joy! And, like all pasture-raised eggs, they have deep yellow/orange yolks and are top of the line when it comes to being nutrient dense and delicious.

• Heritage eggs at: Murray's Farm, Ontario, Canada
• Heritage eggs at: Carol's Eggs, New Hampshire, USA

I also continued to research raw, unpasteurized cheeses from France and it led me to an amazing video clip of gourmet lunches children eat at their schools in France. I was so stunned to learn that their one-hour for lunch is treated like a class with a four-course meal that included a cheese course and dessert. And all served to them on porcelain plates with silverware and glass cups.

These children learn from a very young age:
• What a balanced diet is
• To pay attention to what they eat
• How to eat in a civilized manner
• To enjoy healthy food
• How to serve others

These are key life lessons we could all benefit from in order to really care about what we put in our bodies that greatly affect our physical and mental health. This clip is from Michael Moore’s film, Where To Invade Next and you can see it here: School Lunch France - Michael Moore

This eye-opening clip further excited me to learn more about the French culture and passion for eating! This led me to re-watching a film that was filled with delicious, uplifting insights from France!

Paris Can Wait (2017)

The comedy, drama film, Paris Can Wait, is about Anne (Diane Lane) unexpectedly taking a car trip from Cannes to Paris with her husband's (Alec Baldwin) business associate, Jacques (Arnaud Viard). There are so many wonderful scenes of delicious meals and lush landscapes to enjoy on this adventurous road trip from Cannes to Paris, France.

Jacques’s passion for life and food represented the joy and core values of being French. And as he teaches Anne how to eat and live life more guilt-free I felt he was also teaching me important life lessons while being presented with mouth-watering scenes of French cheeses, fresh strawberries, fine dining, wines and sensuous amounts of chocolate! I also appreciated that Anne loved to take photos and document the delicious discoveries she was having.

This life-changing road trip awakens Anne’s passion for living and it mirrored my own awakening to my current journey of eating more delicious and nutritious foods! Films like this help amplify my desire to pay more attention to what I eat because I actually feel better with these new diet choices and I know it will enable me to live as long as possible with the healthiest mind and body I can achieve!

Choosing to live a more vibrant, exciting life can start with simple changes of healthier choices of eating raw cheese or pasture-raised eggs from happy chickens. It’s about truly caring for the foods going into your body and how it will empower you physically, mentally and emotionally. It’s about really loving yourself! What life-changing choices will you make today?
