Tip#1249: The Recipe For Resilience, Part 55 – Cruella

This is Day 439 of the COVID-19 pandemic here in Toronto, Canada.

I recently ordered a highly recommended fried panzerotto and when it arrived at the checkout window of Frank’s Pizza House it was so enormous that it couldn’t even fit in the box! I actually had to adore the beauty of it for a few minutes before savoring each delicious bite. It felt like a gift from the universe because a week later I ordered the same panzerotto and it wasn’t as big as that first one. It felt like a meaningful message.

On the morning of a recent low mood day, I was at the checkout of a No Frills supermarket when the cashier asked if I wanted a free bag of potatoes. So I said yes and felt a feel-good energy flow through me! Later, after needing to sleep the whole afternoon, I pushed myself outside for a walk and went by a yard with items being given away. There I found a giant Star Wars mug with the statement, “KEEP CALM AND USE THE FORCE”.

The enormous panzerotto, the potatoes and giant mug all felt like important gifts and messages from the universe. First, it was a reminder that I DESERVE and I’M WORTHY of the bigger things in life. Secondly it was a reminder to THINK BIG and DREAM BIG with my life and career goals instead of focusing on the negatives of my life restrictions of the current pandemic.

Thankfully I later watched a just released movie that brought all these messages together in an epic, thrilling fashion!

Cruella (2021)

The comedy drama film, Cruella, is based on the character Cruella de Vil from Walt Disney's 1961 animated film, The Hundred and One Dalmatians. This prequel story is set in 1970s London, during the punk rock movement, and features Estella/Cruella (Emma Stone). She is an aspiring fashion designer, on a path to discovering her true identity and seeks revenge on famous fashion designer, Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson). The cast also includes Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Emily Beecham, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, and Mark Strong.

The sizzling visuals in this movie were so stunning and electrifying and were brimming with rich colours and textures on the screen. Estella/Cruella was also inspiring for her resilience, perseverance and relentless tenacity for following her passion and goals for her talents. There are also many memorable, creative and flashy costumes and wild make-up that I immediately knew I had to watch those scenes again and again!

And for any entrepreneur, there are fantastic marketing lessons in the film on how to make a memorable impression of a new product. One idea was simply to be as big, bold and audacious as possible and that will instantly generate a huge emotional impact on the audience.

Thinking positive is one way to lift one’s self up from difficult, low mood days. But then thinking positively BIG could be a path that takes one’s mood even higher! Be open today for signs from the universe reminding you of your inner bigness. And find a film today that will help re-energize your worthiness to remind you that you DESERVE the bigger things in life!
