Tip#531: Recognize the Emotional Charge When Your Buttons Get Pushed – It Happened One Night

I recently attended a workshop that solidified my belief that every encounter and relationship we have are valuable, even the unpleasant ones! Graham and Monika Burwise's weekend workshop called Master the Art of Relationships was filled with deeply powerful insights and tools for attracting the people you desire into your life. One of those insights for me was the emotional charge.

The emotional charge can be defined as uncomfortable or painful feelings. And when you have these feelings interacting with someone it means that they are reflecting a part of yourself that you've disowned in your past. In other words some relationships may feel negative but they are helping you become more whole. Becoming more whole then, on a deep energetic level, attracts the meaningful relationships you want.

It Happened One Night 1934

The romantic comedy It Happened One Night is a Frank Capra classic about a pampered socialite Ellen Andrews (Claudette Colbert) who runs away from her father and shares a road trip with a reporter Peter Warne (Clark Cable). Instantly upon meeting on a bus they are at odds with each other, continuously arguing.

As they share several adventures together on the road Peter shows Ellen another side of life she never knew. He shows her what it's like when you have no money, live with basic shelter and the joy of good, common folk. Ellen is introduced to a side of life she didn't grow up with and ultimately falls in love with Peter and he with her.

Be Open

If you know people who push your buttons and you experience uncomfortable or painful feelings with them be open to the concept that they are helping you see something about yourself. Be open to the idea that the emotional charge you feel is just a signal or indicator that you are being brought a lesson for becoming a better person. This is an opportunity for you to grow and attract the meaningful relationships you've been dreaming for.

Today you may feel that emotional charge with someone. Feel the pain and be open to the gift they are bringing you!
