Tip#669: Today is Your Day – Yes Man

I woke up early this morning with brilliant sunshine pouring through my new bedroom windows. Felt sooooo good. I then walked out into the crisp lakeshore air and got some oven fresh butter croissants across the street. In the store the radio was playing Shania Twain’s “Today is Your Day” and my heart smiled because I could already feel it! Listen here

Check out the opening lyrics. They were so uplifting and also seemed to address the intense journey to get to this wonderful new home! Perhaps the lyrics also reflect something meaningful for you right now.

You got what it takes you can win,
Today is your day to begin.
Don't give up here, don't you quit.
The moment is now, this is it
Know that you can then you will
Get to the top of the hill
Part of the fun is the climb
You just gotta make up your mind

That today is your day
And nothing can stand in your way
Today is your day
Everything's goin' your way

Yes Man (2008)

The romantic comedy, Yes Man, is about Carl (Jim Carrey) who challenges himself to say “yes” to everything asked or offered to him for an entire year. The film is loosely based on true events of the book of the same name by Danny Wallace. At first, hilarious events result of saying yes to everything such as email and internet solicitations (mail order brides!), beggars on the street and invitations to anything! What is inspiring is that some situations he says yes to early on end up becoming very positive and useful later in his life and relationships. See: movie trailer

I wanted to feature this film mainly because I always loved the movie poster. It was both silly and representative of the bliss I feel when everything is just going so right in my life! Film posters can be empowering images to look at. See Tip#362: How Movie Posters Motivate – 4 Movie Examples
