One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from the movies is how anyone can rewrite the script of their life when situations look hopeless. I am currently excited to be exploring bestselling author and lecturer Dr. Joe Dispenza’s methods and teachings for rewriting my debilitating beliefs and transforming subconscious blocks affecting my health and wellness. He appeared in the film What the Bleep Do We Know? and his approach is very scientific and yet spiritual at the same time.
In his books, Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself and You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter, Dr. Joe provides background information and a road map to positive changes for chronic life and health issues. One of the solutions has to do with going inward via daily, guided meditations.
Since writing has been a passion of mine for many years I see these new meditations as a powerful way of rewriting the script of my life with my inner thoughts and feelings. This may take weeks or months of dedicated daily practice but I will persevere. And I know that movies I am guided to watch will continue to inspire and mirror my inner strengths to keep moving forward. That is part of the uplifting power of cinema!

Their Finest (2017)
The romantic comedy drama film, Their Finest, is about a former secretary, Catrin Cole (Gemma Arteton), newly appointed as a scriptwriter to help create an optimistic motion picture to boost morale and uplift audiences during WWII Britain. This entertaining and emotional movie features great performances by Arteton, Sam Claflin and Bill Nighy. See: movie trailer
This is the kind of uplifting, optimistic film that all movie lovers must see especially those who love movies about making movies. It also features a strong female hero who perseveres through many adversities and demonstrates courage and leadership qualities both in her workplace and personal life. And as you watch how the characters continually rewrite the script of their film when faced with new problems you will be inspired to believe in re-writing a positive ending to whatever challenges you face today.
