Tip#647: Have You Experienced a Sudden Shift in Your Life? - The Shift

Movies and documentaries can provide big insights and inspiration for you. And there is one docudrama called The Shift that can answer questions especially if you have experienced an unexpected change in your life and career forcing you to rethink everything you thought was true. See: The Shift website

The film stars Dr. Wayne Dyer who introduces the concept of a “shift” that some people experience turning their life upside. To better explain the concept he presents a study called “The Moment That Turns Your Values Upside Down” (W. R. Miller & J. C’DeBaca, Anatomy of a Quantum Change. Spirituality & Health) showing the ranking of the most important values for men and women before and after they experienced a shift or quantum moment in their lives. The study group was followed over a lifetime.

Men Before Shift:
1. Wealth/Accumulating money
2. Sense of adventure
3. Achievement
4. Pleasure
5. To be respected

Men After Shift:
1. Spirituality
2. Personal peace/less stress
3. Family
4. God’s will/Sense of purpose
5. Honesty

Women Before Shift:
1. Family
2. Sense of independence
3. Career
4. Fitting in
5. Attractiveness

Women After Shift:
1. Personal growth
2. Self esteem
3. Spirituality
4. Happiness
5. Forgiveness

The Shift (2009)

The docudrama The Shift is about several individuals that experience a shift in their lives and how they deal with the sudden change. Some of the stars include Portia de Rossi, Ed Kerr and Michael DeLuise filmed in the beautiful location of California’s Monterey Peninsula. The storyline that ties everything together is a film crew’s interview with author and self-help guru Dr. Wayne Dyer explaining the concept of the “shift” that actually helps us find our true purpose in life. This film is a very personal favourite of mine because it explains the roller-coaster life path that I am experiencing. And the study above of men’s values after the shift is very accurate to how I feel. Everything I thought to be true before my shift has changed and I’ve been learning to adapt and enjoy this reset in values. If this article has resonated with you then I highly recommend watching The Shift movie.

Times of sudden change in life and career can be painful and yet it can be the catalyst to take you to a higher understanding of your purpose and of finding an inner peace. Be inspired by movies and documentaries that can fill you with hope and AHA moments to move you forward with enthusiasm!

Great blog post -- I liked especially how you quoted: The film also inspires you to feel it is not too late in your life to make positive changes." Here Here!!!!!!!!!

I have heard about the The Shift, but I haven't yet seen the movie. I know Wayne Dyer has undergone many challenges this past while, and he keeps going
    strong.
