Tip#299: Share Your Hidden Gifts – The Incredibles

We all have hidden gifts that we're not aware of, or ignore, suppress and sometimes forget over time. When we unearth and share these talents with the world it can lead you towards unexpected opportunities.

As part of my solutions to solve my current financial situation I'm finally selling the large number of original artworks and prints that's been collecting dust in my home office. These are artworks as far back as 1986 from my creative life as an illustrator and gallery artist.

I photographed over 2 dozen pieces and created an exciting new website to make it easy for art buyers to view. See: Click here

When I showed the website to a few colleagues they were surprised to see this hidden side of me. They were excited and inspired by what they saw. Some only knew me as a motivational speaker or they had no idea how diverse my creativity was. It reminded me an important side to who I am had been buried AND that my artworks always make an uplifting, energizing difference in someone's life.

The Incredibles

The animated Pixar movie, The Incredibles demonstrates that hidden, suppressed gifts are meant to be shared. In this film, superheroes are outlawed and forced not to use their special powers. Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) learns to live a mundane, uneventful life keeping his superhero suit locked in a glass display.

After many years Mr. Incredible is called back into action and you can see how his spirit truly shines when he is sharing his gifts. His super talents once again make a meaningful difference in the lives he saves and the people he inspires.

So if you ever find yourself stuck in your life and career take time to recognize your hidden gifts. If you are going through a career transition take inventory of your past successes and identify the skill sets that helped you achieve them.

Time can sometimes bury the greatness of who you are. When you rediscover your past successes give yourself permission to toot your own horn and share your hidden gifts with the world!

  1. I'll definitely make it a point to see this movie. I'm all into the superhero thing. I discovered the power of superhero status when skating with the Derby Dolls. That's when I chose my name: "Gal Vanized". Being Gal Vanized gives me powers I didn't have before. I am doing some speeches that incorporate this character and it's really fun.

  3. Thanks for another excellent post and congrats on selling your art work, Emmanuel!

As one of your buyers, I can say from experience that you'll be providing happiness and beauty for those who chose to invest!

Thank you for reminding us about unleashing our hidden talents with the world. You've helped me reaffirm that my new business direction (although slightly off the path to my true destination in health and wellness) is the right thing to do: www.millerscraft.ca.

Does it really matter HOW you help people, if that is your purpose?
