Tip#766: Great Leadership in Movies, Part 2 - How to Train Your Dragon 2

I recently saw a good friend’s 9 year-old son who I hadn’t seen in six months and is starting to look like a little man! He reminded me of the visible changes of my nephew as I watched him grow up into a teen. And it is inspiring to see that each of them continue to show signs of great leadership skills every time I see them.

I loved the first How to Train Your Dragon movie with its leadership and teamwork themes and happy to say that the second film expands on the first in so many wonderful ways. It takes place 5 years after the first film so the boy hero Hiccup is visibly older as a young adult. I’ve read that director Dean DeBlois plans this as a trilogy where we get to witness Hiccup grow older and into his destined role as a leader and chief of his Viking village.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014)

The computer-animated action fantasy film, How to Train Your Dragon 2, follows the adventures of Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his dragon Toothless as they face a villain named Drago (Djimon Hounsou) who is building a dragon army to conquer the world. Despite what others believe Hiccup has a strong vision of a peaceful world and believes he can transform the villain’s mindset like he did with his father Stoick (Gerard Butler). The movie is filled with awe-inspiring scenes of flying and fantastic visuals of old and new dragons that will take your breath away. See: movie trailer
